Strategic Communication is the study of various forms of targeted information and communication processes between organisations, society and specific stakeholders, agents or target groups. We educate future communications officers, marketing communication managers, PR consultants, communication strategists and project managers. Every year, we offer a varied range of free-standing courses within strategic communication.
In addition to targeting full-time students and exchange students, the courses are also aimed for professionals wihtin the communication sector. All courses are offered at Campus Helsingborg.
First cycle

The aim of the course is to provide the student with theoretical knowledge and practical skills within applied visual communication.

The aim of this course is to develop the student’s strategic skills in mitigating issues and managing crises that organizations encounter. Crisis Communication in Organisations and Societies | 15 credits
Are you interested in learning and understanding more about brand culture? Do you want to discuss and reflect on brands as cultural artifacts? Do you want to develop your knowledge of the visual identity of brands in relation to historical as well as sociocultural shifts in society? Then this is the course for you!
The aim of the course is to provide the student with theoretical knowledge of brand culture. In the course we trace the development of brands in relation to historical and sociocultural shifts in society.

You will gain valuable insights into sustainability communication from a strategic communication perspective. The course introduces sustainability studies, communication strategies, and practical applications.

Strategic Communication: Sustainability Communication - 15 credits
This course introduces the concept of psychological defence through four core components: resiliencebuilding, threat intelligence, deterrence, and strategic communication. The course includes a case study of an influence operation, giving students the opportunity to explore methods of analysis, threat assessment, and development of countermeasures.

Strategic Communication: An introduction to psychological defence
Second cycle
The aim of the course is to prepare the student for future professional life by providing her or him with an opportunity both to relate their academic skills to professional duties and to establish contact with potential employers. The work placement in strategic communication can take place in public or private organisations or NGOs, in Sweden or abroad. The course is mainly made up of work placement duties, but also includes several assignments to be completed before and after the placement.
The work placement is to comprise at least 16 weeks of full-time work (the equivalent of 640 working hours) which corresponds to 32 hours a week for 20 weeks. Aided by supervision at the placement-provider, the student is to engage in advanced and varied tasks of both a strategic and operational nature.
